stopped in on a whim this weekend; it was the best surprise of the day/week. definitely will be back. i'd be back right now but they're not open atm. i mean, it was excellent. we got the spinach/feta/chicken pizza. it surpassed my expectations.
Tl;dr: The gluten free pizza, staff, and overall vibe of the place are fantastic. 100% will be returning. I'd never been to Mt. Tabor Brewing before, but was invited by a friend. They do a "monthly special" for their pizzas and I was immediately intrigued by the sound of a Beer Cheese Pizza. So I ordered it gluten friendly, grabbed a delicious local cider, and was chatting with my friend when Marcus (the bar manager) nabbed me. He let me know that the beer cheese they use for the pizza is made with enough flour that they didn't feel comfortable serving it to me on a gluten friendly pizza without checking with me first. I was floored! I settled on a different pizza (The CBR -- pictured) which was delicious. Every staff member I spoke to was awesome (what's up, Natalie!), and I was genuinely just really impress with this place. 100% will be coming back.
Upon writing this, I've only been to Mt. Tabor Brewing once and had the wedge salad. While the salad was a bit too creamy/thick for my liking, we enjoy the atmosphere and other food here. My husband says they serve the best Cuban sandwich he's ever had, and we got a taste of their new jalapeno pepper pizza which certainly will have us returning for a visit in the future.
Time for a review update to up them a star! The pizzas we've had here lately are much better than what we had years ago. The crust & their red sauce have been great, and they have many different pizzas to choose from. Their other food is really good, too, and the food typically comes out quick. Plus they have a great selection of beers on tap. The staff is friendly, and it's a nice big location, with a covered patio, too. They still don't have table service though, so you currently order at the bar and then they'll bring the food to your table.
